Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG - Bremen Collection

In August 2005, after waiting over a year, I decided to make use of the Mercedes-Benz Personal Collection scheme.

For no extra cost compared to a UK delivery, you get a business class flight from Heathrow to Bremen, collection from the airport by taxi, a night in a choice of hotels in Bremen (including dinner and breakfast), taxi to the collection centre, a tour of the factory (if you are lucky you get to tour the SLK manufacturing plant), five days EU-wide insurance and a Eurotunnel ticket. Taking a passenger costs extra, as do any extra hotel nights on the way home, but it's still a great deal and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Bremen itself is well worth visiting for a morning or afternoon. One of the option hotels is the Hilton Bremen, which is superbly located for exploring the Hanseatic heart of the city.
